Tips On Effective Remedies to Get Rid Of Acne Scars

Acne is a common skin ailment that generally occurs during the adolescence years and can lead to the formation of scars. The acne scars are a result of dermal infection as well as the subsequent healing process of the body’s immune system.

There are many causes that may be linked to the occurrence of acne. Due to the healing process of acne, the pus formation in the infected cells dries up and leaves dark colored acne scars on the tissues left behind.

Acne scars cause blemishes on the color, smoothness, and tone of the skin. Getting rid of acne scars is not easy and requires a strict discipline and medical attention.

The severity of occurrence of acne scars varies from person to person, depending upon the patient’s skin type and immunity system. The prevalence of acne is more among people having oily skin. Therefore, in order to prevent acne and get rid of acne scars, it is important to wash the skin regularly with medicated soap and keep it dry.

Getting rid of acne also depends upon controlling the infection by taking care of acne in the initial stages.

Type of Acne Scars

Depressed Scars- These are characterized by a depression caused on the skin. When the skin is oily, it gets infected with the formation of pus. The vesicles then expand, attacking the skin cells on the epidermal layer causing the body to release white blood cells to heal the infection. The depressed scars are direct result of the resultant loss of collagen in the lower epidermis, thus rise to a ‘pit’ or the ‘depressed scars’. Getting rid of acne scars is a long process.

Keloids- These are the scars that are exactly opposite of the depressed scars and are formed because, after the resultant loss of collagen, the body activates fibroblasts which produce ‘keloids’ i.e. the scar tissues that produce excessive collagen with an protruding scar formation. Getting rid of acne scars is a long process involves removing protrusions.

Hypertrophic Scars – Hypertrophy means overgrowth. These are thus, another type of acne scars that are formed out of increased tissue. Getting rid of these acne scars is difficult in severe cases.
